MR JACK IS READY FOR HIS FUREVER HOME!
Jack is a black and tan long haired dachshund born on January 14, 2010.
Jack is a trained, active senior who enjoys physical activity and mental stimulation; he’s incredibly intelligent and likes structure.
He grew up being an only dog and has exhibited a dominate personality around other pets in his foster home. Jack needs to be an only dog in his forever home. In the right environment, he is a wonderful companion.
Jack is a playful dog; he can keep himself busy with treat balls, brain games, and squeaky toys (it should be noted, he will remove the squeaker from any soft toy almost immediately). He is agility trained and a high jumper and can grab things off the counter when you’re not looking.
He has some repetitive, obsessive behavior: he can play fetch until the end of time but can also obsessively lick something when he’s feeling anxious, which is a behavior that happens in the evening if he didn’t have exercise or mental stimulation during the day.
In his foster home, he enjoys having free reign in the house while his foster mom is at work. He uses the doggy door to go outside, and he likes to explore and go on mini adventures in the yard. For as active as he is, he equally likes down time - he loves cuddling on the couch and sleeping in bed with his owner. He gets groomed regularly and needs to have his anal glands done every 2 months.
Please let us know if you have an application on file or apply today for this wonderful boy!
