Stewart

Hi!  I am Stewart and I am ready for my forever home.  I am 3 years old and 12 lbs.  I love cuddles and long walks on the leash.  I will love you so much, that I want my new family to have someone who is home most of the time.  I get very anxious when I am in a crate, but I go in there when I’m home alone, because sometimes I have accidents.  So less time in that crate is best.  I also want to sleep in bed with you, I’ll cry all night if I’m in my crate.  

I’m a pretty nervous guy in general, and I especially don’t like little children, so a home with no young children and minimal child visitors is a must.  My last family gave me up after I nipped at a young child, so I don’t want to be put in that situation again.  I do well meeting new people and dogs if they are introduced slowly, but I do bark at them at first. But give me a few minutes, and I’ll make friends.  I’ll let you give me a bath and clip my nails, I’d much rather it be done at home than at a scary vet.  And even though I was scared at the vet, my foster mom says I was a really good boy, and everyone loved me!  

The vet said I’m perfectly healthy, neutered, microchipped, up to date on all my vaccines, and by the time I go to my forever home I’m going to have shiny clean teeth.  I’m just learning about this whole tooth brushing thing, it’s not my favorite, but we’re working on it.  I’ve lived with other dogs and cats, and they don’t bother me as long as they respect my space and don’t try to steal my things or my spot on your lap.  It would be a-okay with me if I was the only dog in my new home – all of the attention for me!  

I don’t have any formal training or know what you mean by Sit and Stay, but I keep out of trouble.  I do well on car rides, but I will try to get into your lap if I’m not restrained.  I just want to be by you all the time!  So if you have an open spot in the chair and in your bed, and you think I’d fit in it well, let’s meet!
