This old lady has a very loving spirit and is ready for her forever home. Allie is a 12 year old standard size Dachshund. Weighing in at 34 pounds she is a bit heavier than she should be so she is on a weight reducing diet. Allie does have a seizure disorder and needs to be given medication 2x day. Foster family has not witnessed Allie having any seizures.
She is a truly loving little dog. She would do very well in a home where someone is around most of the day. A great candidate for a senior to senior adoption. She is potty trained as long as someone can put her outside to do her business every couple of hours.
She gets along well with other dogs and cats, but would be fine being an only dog. She loves pets and attention, but not one to cuddle on the couch with you for more than 5-10 minutes. She really prefers to be in her comfy bed in the kitchen where she can keep track of everyone's coming and goings. Allie would be fine with older gentle children but gets anxious and grouchy around smaller children. As a typical dachshund she loves to be outside as long as the weather is nice but can be very stubborn when it comes to going outside in cold, rain or dark. Allie does not like to ride in a car, she gets very anxious.
