Finnegan is a 25lb red long-haired Dachshund needing a chance at a full and happy life!
Found as a stray around 17 weeks, he was “adopted” from a shelter by an abusive home and tied to a tree with no shelter. Rescued from this situation around 1 year old he quickly settled in with his new fur siblings in a child-free home early October 2022. April 2023 it was discovered that he has environmental as well as food allergies that manifest as agitation, along with anxiety from his abuse as a puppy. His family consulted with a trainer and behaviorist and decided to try medication and a prescription diet first with great success. As long as his allergies and anxiety are managed through medication and special food, Finnegan is a happy and playful pup!
He loves walks, treats, doggy daycare and playing tug with stuffed toys. While still reserved when it comes to being petted, Finn does love to snuggle up with his people. His family now has a loud and active toddler who has begun to cause increased stress and guarding behaviors over the last several months, resulting in the need to rehome.
