Theodore
Theodore is a sweet, relaxed dachshund who loves being inside but gets very excited outside. He is halfway potty trained and sometimes rings the bell to go out, but isn’t consistent yet. Theodore has moderate separation anxiety and will bark when you leave. On walks, he barks at strangers but has never shown aggression. He is friendly with new people who come into the house. He generally gets along well with Simon but has been attacked by him during resource guarding over cuddling. He shows no issues with food or water guarding, has no major chewing problems, and does fine with baths and brushing. Not sure how he’d do with cats or other dogs. He has a high prey drive and loves chasing squirrels. No ongoing medical needs.
Simon
Simon is an energetic dachshund who loves being outside and has very high energy during outdoor time. He is halfway potty trained but has more accidents inside than Theodore. He sometimes rings the bell to go out but inconsistently. Simon has some separation anxiety, mainly whining or occasionally howling when left alone. He has shown aggressive behavior toward Theodore when competing for cuddling, once attacking him seriously. He can bark at strangers on walks and has become more vocal over time. Simon is more reserved with visitors, often hiding when new people enter the home. He has a high prey drive, no major chewing issues, and does fine with baths and brushing. He has no ongoing medical needs but has had a couple of episodes of heavy breathing on walks. Not sure how he’d do with cats or other dogs.
Adoption Note:
Theodore and Simon MUST be adopted together. They would do best in a home with a fenced yard where they can safely enjoy outdoor time. Apartment living is not recommended due to barking.
